The town is large with almost 1500 structures, The town is constructed in a gothic style with steep roofs and pointed architecture. There are metal accents that reinforce the structures, many of which include the use of the rib vault and the flying buttress. Qak'Tornu is heavily fortified and surrounded by a heavy stone wall, with several watchtowers built along its length. The gate is double-thickness and reinforced with metal bands and there are additional watchtowers built at various points throughout the surrounding countryside, The town established itself here as it was part of a current trade route along the Morceaux River.  Qak'Tornu sprouts worn piers and roads taken by merchants and travelers alike. The number of people on the street and working in the fields is what you would expect from a town this size. Roughly a fifth of the town’s population lives outside the town proper.

Presence of the town watch may be scattered, or lacking, at times. There is no military presence within the town.

The town has attained a mild degree of success and visibility in the region. Qak'Tornu imports Pigs, Mithral Armor, and Cotton and exports Rubies, Pearls, Ivory. The market is spacious with room for lots of vendor stalls. Vendor stalls are acquired by lease. Merchants must pay in advance for the right to a space in the market square. Excess vendors are allowed to set up stalls and the town Watch patrols through regularly but the areas themselves are less-maintained and traffic is lighter.

Infrastructure

The town has received adequate care where the fundamental elements are all taken care of relatively competently, but some room for improvement still exists. Lack of money, or involvement in more pressing matters such as external conflicts or disaster management, are possible explanations.

  • Theolin's tannery and taxidermy shop.  The offerings are likely limited, or of bad quality. The location itself may be in disrepair, dirty, or have any number of other issues present.
  • Artist gallery with a fair amount of items, although nothing is extraordinary among them.
  • Rare trade goods shop the offerings are lacking not only in quantity but in quality as well. Grime and filth is evident throughout the shop, the odors are an affront to your sense of smell.
