Osridge

Osridge is a village in the heart of Mera, sitting on the hills of Orlin, between the Poltava and Crystal rivers. The village of Osridge was named for its founder Orlin Meadowhorn, who built his home on the ridge overlooking the plains below, the Other Firbolg called this O’s Ridge which over time just became Osridge. This sleepy village of cottages amongst the high banks of the hills is most known for its talented wood-carvers and brewers. They fashion furniture and toys of extraordinary quality and intricate design as well as brew some of the best Ale across the entire Kingdom. Clever merchants snap these up wares and sell them to the rich and noble across Mera.

Demographics

The population of Osridge is 50% Human, 25% Halfling, 15% Firbolg, and 10% various other races. The people are destitute, nearly everyone in the Hamlet Consistently lacks the barest essentials of what they need to survive.

The hamlet is governed by an elected chieftain.

Defences

Osridge has no formal law enforcement. In instances where the town feels an issue needs to be addressed a mob quickly forms with little to no organization.

Industry & Trade

Osridge is known for its talented wood-carvers and brewers. They fashion furniture and toys of extraordinary quality and intricate design as well as brew some of the best Ale across the entire Kingdom.

Infrastructure

Osridge is more of a ruin then a hamlet, you see that it is little more than rubble and debris.

Assets

The hamlet raises llamas, sheep, goats, and/or yaks to be shorn, the wool is then bundled and taken to market.

Points of interest

The hamlet has a village soothsayer and a park. There is an oratory devoted to Corgath in a modest building with seating for attendees. Followers are outspoken, with little or no fear of reproach. They may sing or speak to the masses. .

Tourism

At times the village Watch has difficulty managing the congestion as huge groups of people always seem to be visiting. Locals are unfriendly and don't care much for visitors as they look upon them with contempt, fear, or suspicion.

Architecture

The village is nestled along the river with a series of docks. The homes are of wooden construction and some of them are built on stilts over the water.

The hamlet is set on the river in a region of gently sloping, and hilly land.
