Ashfall

Ashfall is very large having almost 2000 structures, The structures in the town are made up of wooden plank and timber framing with pitched roofs with wooden shingles. Ashfall is heavily fortified and surrounded by a heavy timber palisade, with several watchtowers built along its length. The gate is double-thickness and reinforced with metal bands and there are additional watchtowers built at various points throughout the surrounding countryside, A military deployment wound up lasting longer than anticipated, so the camp began building more solid fortifications in an increasingly permanent fashion. Either the original members of the encampment still reside here, or it was otherwise occupied after they departed. The town seems busy, there always seems to be a higher amount of people then you would expect to see. Roughly a fifth of the town’s population lives outside the town proper.

The population of Ashfall is 50% Dragonborn, 25% Tabaxi, 15% Half-Orc, and 10% are a mix of other races. the majority of the people are impoverished, around half of the town struggles to carve out even a meager existence.

There is no military presence within the town.

Industry & Trade

The town is functional and generates a modest to good amount of coin. Ashfall imports Cattle, Iron Ore, Leather Armor, and Textiles or Clothing and exports Guard Dogs, Paper, Clay, Pepper. The market is tight and it only has room for a few key vendor stalls. Vendor stalls are acquired on a first-come first-served basis. Merchants line up prior to market day and those at the front of the line are given the spaces. No fees are charged to have a stall. Excess vendors are not allowed to set up stalls outside the town and the town watch will enforce this.

Infrastructure

The town has received adequate care where the fundamental elements are all taken care of relatively competently, but some room for improvement still exists. Lack of money, or involvement in more pressing matters such as external conflicts or disaster management, are possible explanations.
