Hippogriff

Hippogriffs have the head, wings and talons of an eagle on the front quarters, while their back half is that of a horse. As docile, herbivore creatures they are favored prey to many flying monsters.
Many herds of hippogriffs in Chronan have found a safe haven in Parcivale, where the humanoid population is high, protecting them from their aerial predators. The local Air Brigade is named after the beast. In old times, knights used to tame hippogriffs as steeds, and few individuals have continued the practice even after the rise of the steam technology.
