The Drezzen Curse
1333 4 month 11th day
The curse in essence, essentially a dream like state that is forming from the abomination trapped in amber. Whatever is touched will be induced into a slumber that lasts Gods know how long, his spirit seems to still exist while the physical body is decaying.
Vela sniffed out a curse from the path that went toward the rain forest. We followed the trail into a crevice where we found a vile creature trapped in amber which seeped black ooze that seems to put any victim that touches it to eternal sleep. Upon inspection it seems to be multiple body parts all conjoined in a simply.. wrong manner. After approximately hours of complaining by Dio and Kiski I finished up my notes and gave it to Vela who so graciously volunteered to bring it back to Kore-Jas and off she went. Moments later something came over Kiski and he briskly made his way to the amber and touched the ooze, instantly dropping. Apparently according to Kiski the way out is by suicide during the dreamstate that the sleep puts you in.
Curse Detection
1333 F. 4 month 5th day
On our boat ride to the Drezzin Isle had quite the landmark. A great tree growing right in the middle of the ocean, insane huh? I was skeptical of the berries growing on there at first but after some Kiski brand problem solving he got one and we fed it to Namys, poor kid was a test subject. At first it seemed like they were a blessing, they healed wounds and were apparently quite delicious. I wish I had the foresight to use Vela's family career to my advantage sooner however, since when she gave one a sniff she informed me they were cursed. I shouldn't have been as impressed as I was that the daughter of a spirit of curses could detect said curses. The curse caused the afflicted to be unable to benefit from resting. Even elves who didnt need to sleep couldn't really meditate. Namys is trying to help cure some of the sailors who partook in the berries but I doubt he will get to all of them before they start dropping like flies. It could have been avoided if I thought things through but if there's one thing I've learned in my long life it's that I can't dwell on my mistakes, only learn. And I have learned quite a bit about Vela thanks to that.
Kore' Jas and Vela
1333 F. 3 month 31st day
I ran into a giant Fox spirit by the name of Kore' Jas. She accused my vampire origins of being cursed however I consider this whole eternal life thing to be quite the blessing. She sent one of her brood by the name of "Vela" to watch over me, they are both absolutely stunning creatures. She then gave me a task to investigate a curse in the Drezzen Isle, lucky me. I couldn't exactly decline thanks to certain implications with a powerful spirit capable of Gods know what. Thankfully I already intended to head in that direction anyway for multiple reasons like following Karthel and Dio's personal mission, guess it's just another motivation for the party. A noticable difference between Vela and her mother is that she only has 2 tails and seems to take after the night sky compared to her mother which seemed much more corporeal, I'll have to investigate that myself one of these days.
