The Ashlands
Geography
Blackened by flame and suffocated with soot, the Ashlands are a burning wasteland. Daylight is thin beneath the roiling clouds and the night is dominated by dots of burning flame, countlessly mirroring the hidden stars above in a threatening mockery.
Any extended travel within this environment is sure to inflict permanent damage upon those unprotected.
Ecosystem
Crooked burned trees survive on heat and flame and the ground constantly groans with the pains of the volcano. There is very little to forage for those not adapted to the area and water is nowhere to be found.
Climate
Hot and hard. Lots of ash, little oxygen.
