Crelan Spires

The Crelan Spires is the smallest major mountain range on Gaulren. The Crelan Spires are held by the Republic and is the largest source of mineral wealth for the Republic. The city of Miana is effectively in control of the entire mountain range and all of the veins of ore held within the mountain range spanning a few hundred miles. The Crelan Spires also offer a natural chokepoint on the land leading to the Ferax Grasslands which the province of Vernica is on. The Crelan spires are a series of mountains with very sharp peaks. That along with Miana using the mineral wealth to produce weaponry earned them the nickname Spearheads of the Republic.
The Crelan Spires also holds a number of fortified villas of several powerful families in Vernica with difficult to traverse paths that can be held by a handful of troops. Many senators go to these villas to make deals with other senators and nobles from the provinces of Albion and Luclana.
The Crelan Spires are relatively tame and have been cleared of the orc tribes that used to live there several thousand years ago. The central peaks hold a few dragons that can be seen time to time, but the dragons keep to themselves and the senators who make their home there make sure no adventurers go and disturb them lest their ire turn to their homes. A race of giants used to live in the Crelan Spires as well, but they were slain by the undead during the events of the Sundering providing the armies with a tribe of giants to bolster their armies.
