After running untold billions of simulations, Command AI finally decided that machine elf growing empire is a threat to its long term goals. Thus, it caused a Day of Judgment.
Within a single day, every single one of instalation, city or army of Cabal was struck by a singular missile. This missiles were armed with sophisticated nano-virus. Within minutes 99% of machine elves mutated into grotesque beings, an abhorrent fusion of their beloved technology and organic matter.
These beings were 'programmed' to forever haunt the Narrow Mountains - soon renamed into Machine Mountains - to prevent other civilizations from discovering secrets of Cabal's technomagic.
