As a part of the slow degeneracy of Xylian Dominion, the prototype specie of servants is created through genmaturgy.
Xylian society slowly devolved over time, with more and more Xylians not wishing to work, and with more and more jobs done by machines. However, there was a moment in their history when their still primitive machines could no longer be expanded in terms of usage.
The first attempt on using magic to recreate a captured humans into decent workers ended with creation of dwarfs. While resilient and strong, the side effect of modifications they underwent was their small stature, caused by a mistake in a process. This made them unsuitable for many of the jobs Xyls envisioned for them. After a long debate, Xylians decided to let the failed products live, thus creating the dwarven communities in White Mountains and on Alvaen Isles. They became a part of Xylian Dominion tasked with mining and melting metals, then used by Xyls to create their mechanical legions.
