Hundred Years War

Military action

A long period of struggle between elven kingdoms of Lanoirenn and Alvaena, and human Empire of Frankia for control over Western Karathia.

Hundred Years War was a period of repeating military campaigns, betrayals and ambushes, battles and sieges... and, of course, periods of war and periods of unoficcial armistice, happening because both sides badly needed some relief.

Alvaena fought to expand towards the continent, finally strong enough to, perhaps, bring back the period of elven domination.

Lanoirenn fought for the same... but wasn't overly interested in Alvaena succeeding (and vice versa). What's more, while being stronger in terms of military power from Alvaena, it was partially tied on two other fronts - against Niflheim and Visenia.

Frankia, in the same time, fought to repel forces of Alvaena and Lanoirenn... while hoping to spread the rule of their emperors on - and that was the most pessimistic assumption - humans inhabiting western and southwestern Lanoirenn.

War ultimately wasted resources of all three sides of the conflict, without any defined victor. Frankia sucessfully repelled all incursions on its territory, but failed to reconquer Mordhang... and the cost of the war was so great that it nearly collapsed, losing most of its outer provinces, limited to its core lands. Lanoirenn lost many high elves gaining nothing. Alvaena neared total collapse and once again was limited to its islands.
