Gaius Aquilla gains dictatorial power in Roman Republic via military coup and short civil war, soon changing the Republic into Empire.
Roman Empire nearly lost Second Scyllan War completely. With its armies destroyed, lands plundered and honour tarnished - not to mention being humiliated like never before - they wanted to take revenge.
At least that is what people of Rome wished. Senators - at least most of them - weren't so hasty, knowing that Karthia is still strong, what's more if it started losing, Novia would no doubt intervene.
This disagreement led to certain demagogue rise to power and overthrow Senate, creating Roman Empire, quickly increasing its military power to launch war of conquest on Karthia.
