Emperor Valimir dies in a duel against a pretendent.
As the remnants of Elven Empire on Itirrian Peninsula further degraded and degenerated, certain old tradition returned.
Elven Empire was supposed to be a hereditary monarchy, to once and for all abandon old elven ways of dueling for power which was leading to long period of internal struggle following the death of particularly strong leader, as many warriors tried to challenge their victors, oftenly overpowering them only to be killed by yet another pretendent.
Abandonment of this tradition in regard to elven emperors never sit well with majority of elves. As Elven Empire collapsed, it was finally brought back leading to its ultimate demise.
As emperor Valimir was slain, what follow was a period of instability that caused a collapse of what remained of elven unity, with three itirrian kingdoms once again independent.
