White Celestials Species in Gates of Eternity | World Anvil

White Celestials

White Celestials are the rarest subspecie of celestials that occurs when one of loyal angels of Shimmer has a child with mortal. It happens very rarely because such angels are very similar to their goddess in action and beliefs (otherwise they would desert long ago). And since Shimmer isn't really one of sexually active deities (meaning that there are no daemons that claim to be her descendants), angels not only do not search partners but also tend to be against such ideas altogether.   This means that most of White Celestials occurs when Shimmer has some plans in regard to such child. Many of her Chosen Ones are white celestials. The small minority of not Shimmer-aligned examples of this species occurs when angel is yet to rebel against her and desert and has a child when still being her servants.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Typical humanoids with two hands, two legs and a head. Tend to be quite tall and, as most celestials, rather beautiful. Possess an inborn talent for either Holy Magic of Shimmer or white magic in an entirety (if not a Chosen One candidate).

Biological Traits

Their halo manifests as a blindingly light circle floating above their head. It is significantly stronger in terms of pure power than the one possessed by other celestials (due to power of Shimmer attuned better to their nature, as a creator of angels and by extension celestials), with exception of Pure Celestials.   It can be used to project light that causes significant damage to creatures of evil nature... or to simply light the surrounding area. There are also - as in case of all celestial halos - other options, manifesting in the form of unique spells available to them when manifesting their halos (the one mentioned earlier is common, however).
