The universe of Garlan is split into the Planes. These planes are grouped into categories; one of which is the Nexus{TBC} where the world of Verterea is located.
Verterea is the world upon which mortals exist. From elves to humans, dwarves to orcs, kobolds to tabaxi, and so many more. It is made up of seven continents. Each continent can be divided further still, into governing regions or barren lands. Climates vary, as do the people.
The seven continents are: Aeris (the eastern continent), Eldorwin (the northwestern continent), Journ (a central continent), Marithell (the northern continent), Nione (the southwestern continent), Prill (the southern continent), and Varenfall (a central continent).

Aeris
To the East lies Aeris, known for its warm, wet summers and arduously cold winters. Aeris is divided into regions known as “countries” and each country is governed by councils, senates, or presidents.
Eldorwin
High in the Northwest lies Eldorwin. Cold and dreary for most of the year, its people are hardened by their survival. Eldorwin is governed by lords and barons who claim ownership of villages and towns instead of vast stretches of land.
Journ
In a centralised, slightly eastern location, lies the continent of Journ. Known for its long periods of torrential downpours. Journ is divided into regions known as “kingdoms”, each of which is ruled by a monarchy.
Marithell
In the far North of Verterea lies Marithell. The smallest of the continents, known for its unpredictable weather. Marithell is divided into regions known as “counties”, each of which is ruled by a monarchy.
Nione
To the Southwest, separated from the other continents by a ring of islands, lies Nione. Grey clouds line the skies year round. Nione is divided into regions known as “kingdoms”, each of which is governed by either a monarch, a baron, or a duke.
Prill
To the South lies Prill, known for its dry, scorching hot springs and summers. Prill is divided into regions known as “countries” and each country is governed by councils, whose members are elected by the public.
Varenfall
In a centralised area of Verterea lies Varenfall. Known for its agreeable, average climates that vary little from season to season. Varenfall is divided into regions known as “counties”, each of which is governed by either a monarchy or a council.
