Ræsje Esmaðír (RYE.sheh EHS.ma.theer)

In 85ATC, what was believed to be the last Gáníswyrm, mightiest of the servants of Ísje the Ice Queen, was slain on Icewall Glacier by a party of hunters led by Sjæfír the Wind-Tracker. For nearly three-thousand years, such creatures were unknown, long believed to belong to the ancient past; until 2967ATC, when a single egg was quickened by a sub-glacial volcanic eruption under the Ravenfjords' vast glacier, Hrafnajökull. Two years later, the egg hatched, and Ræsje Esmaðír emerged.

Ræsje is the only of her kind known to exist, and even her existence is uncertain, as no trace of her has been found since her confrontation with Bjón Godhammer and Kiera the Aisling.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Since her diminishing at the hands of Kiera the Aisling, Ræsje has been forced to remain in her human body, unable to change shape to her natural form. In this human guise, she appears as a very petite, compact young woman, belying the incredible feats of strength of which a Gáníswyrm, even in human form, is capable.

Body Features

Even in her human body, Ræsje is notable for having a pair of slender, curving horns at the crown of her head, which she frequently conceals either with her hair, or various types of headwear. In the fateful encounter between the young Gáníswyrm and Kiera the Aisling, these horns were observed by the latter, revealing Ræsje's true nature.

Special abilities

Though no longer able to take on her true form, Ræsje is nonetheless incredibly powerful in her own right. She has super-human strength, speed, and reflexes, as well as an innate control over the climate of her immediate environment, with the ability to create a vortex of intense freezing temperatures. She herself is utterly impervious to cold.
