The Gunsmith
Amul Firearms is the largest manufacturer of personal firearms in Taebur. It is located in Zal, where you used to know a man named Wayoon. He worked for a time as a labourer in the Amul Firearms warehouse. You can decide the exact nature of your relationship with Wayoon. He could be a friend, lover, family member (such as a sibling or cousin), or maybe just a casual acquaintance you bumped into from time to time when you passed through Zal.
Whatever the extent of your relationship, he would often remark about the things he'd seen in his job. He never went into specifics, saying he was forbidden to by documents he'd signed when he started the job. He would only say that, "If the people of Zal knew what went on in there, they'd never accept old Hamis as their mayor." He would generally then laugh it off and change the subject.
A year ago, he sent you an urgent message, saying he couldn't keep quiet any longer and needed to meet with you to discuss something terrifying. He gave you a place and time to meet, but never showed up. The next day, his body was found in his home. The official report said he'd suffered a heart attack the day before. You never got to see the body yourself. It was spirited away by the Amul family, who said they would provide the funeral as he was a "valued employee". If the funeral ever took place, they didn't invite any of Wayoon's family or friends.
People in Zal quickly forgot about the incident, if they'd even paid any attention to it in the first place. To them, Wayoon was an unimportant nobody. But it never sat well with you, regardless of your exact realtionship with him. You want to know the truth of what happened, but no clues have ever presented themselves. Gaining access to the Amul warehouse or any other Amul properties (other than their public storefront) has proven impossible. Yet you remain determined to one day find the truth.
