Hamis Amul
Hamis is the mayor of Zal, and CEO and owner of Amul Firearms, as well as head of the Amul family. He is known to be ruthless and demanding, willing to do whatever is necessary to keep his family and business prosperous. Since keep his business prosperous requires keeping Zal prosperous, he will also do whatever is necessary for the town's survival. As such, even though people in the town don't generally like him much as a person, they think he is an acceptable and even good mayor. This is a good thing for Hamis, seeing as he hasn't held an election for 20 years.
Amis makes regular, but infrequent, public appearances, mostly to give updates on the town's growth, plans for the future, etc. He is always surrounded by bodyguards on such occasions, and it is well known that he also has numerous other security personnel hidden amongst the crowds, on top of buildings, in alleys, etc. There have been multiple attempts on his life since he was a boy, so his paranoia is perhaps justified.
Personal History
Hamis is the grandson of Amir Amul, the founder and original CEO of Amul Firearms. He grew up learning the business from both his grandfather and mother. After his grandfather died, his mother Sienna Amul took over the company and became mayor of Zal, in one of the town's infrequent elections (which was almost certainly rigged). Sienna's reign was short-lived. Only a few years after becoming mayor, she was shot by an unknown assailant during a public appearance. She died the next day from complications related to the injury. Hamis took over the family business at the death of his mother, and also ran a campaign for mayor of Zal, in which no one ran against him. There has not been another election in Zal since. The mystery of who killed his mother remains unsolved. He is married to Gina Amul and has three children: Germain Amul, Nina Amul, and Omar Amul.
