The goddess of Night and Dreams is named Twilight. She is a matron deity of the Dark Aelfes while also being a common prayer for other races as well. She holds a unique spots in the pantheon on the Black Ocean. Although folklore aligns her with Rezial, the God of Death, her role is much more complicated in relation to the mortal plane. There are certain ways gods decide to speak to mortals on Galfin and dreams or nightmares are a common form of communication. She plays no sides when it comes to passing messages through her dream weave. A mortal's dream enters inter the ethereal realm known as the Weave, her spectral spiders known as the dreamweavers work these dreams into an infinite web of dreams and nightmares. When a god wishes to speak to their patrons, they must use the Weave as they cannot simply appear on Galfin unless they send a Seol or a Drengr. There is a mist seen in the night sky that resembles an orange and blue aurora in the night sky, this is the dreams of mortals escaping the mortal plane and working their way into the weave.

Twilight, the goddess of dreams, embodies both the serenity and chaos of the subconscious. She appears as a figure of shifting hues, her form dissolving into waves of starlight and soft shadows. Her voice is a lullaby, soothing yet firm, a constant reminder of the fragile balance she maintains within the Weave. As the Lucidity grows in power, Twilight’s domain has begun to fragment, her influence waning. Her connection to the mortal realm, once secure through artifacts like the Orbicus of Sleep, has been severed in places. Yet Twilight remains resolute, guiding her few remaining faithful and working subtly through dreamers to counter the Lucidity’s growing threat.
Twilight, the enigmatic goddess of Night and Dreams, occupies a nebulous yet essential role within the divine pantheon of the Black Ocean. Revered by the Dark Aelfes as their matron deity, her influence extends far beyond their shadowed cities, with prayers rising to her from every corner of Galfin. Her essence weaves between the mortal and divine, a figure as alluring as she is inscrutable. Though folklore often ties her to Rezial, the God of Death, Twilight’s purpose transcends such simple associations. She stands apart, not bound by allegiance or morality, serving as an impartial intermediary for divine communication.
In the slumbering hours, mortals entrust their minds to the Weave, an ethereal realm where dreams take shape and dissolve into infinity. Twilight’s spectral servants, the dreamweavers, are her tireless artisans. These delicate, glowing spiders scuttle across the infinite threads, crafting dreams and nightmares with care, precision, and a touch of chaos. The Weave itself is a shimmering labyrinth of silken filaments, its gossamer strands pulsing with the flicker of mortal imagination. Each thread vibrates with a dream or nightmare, connecting the mortal plane to Twilight’s boundless domain.
When the gods wish to speak to their mortal followers, they must traverse the Weave, for direct intervention is forbidden without sending a Seol or a Drengr. Twilight ensures that even the most powerful deities adhere to this law, acting as the unseen mediator between the divine and the dreaming. She does not manipulate the messages that pass through her realm, but neither does she guide them. Instead, she is an impartial warden of the dreamscape, allowing mortal minds and divine wills to intersect as the Weave determines.
In the night sky, mortals glimpse an otherworldly phenomenon: the Dreammist, an aurora of orange and blue hues that dances among the stars. This mystical veil is the ethereal imprint of dreams leaving the mortal plane and entering Twilight’s domain. To those who watch it, the Dreammist is a comforting reminder of the goddess’s presence, a quiet reassurance that their whispered fears and aspirations are being carried into the infinite web of the Weave, where gods and mortals meet in the stillness of sleep.
