The Mainland Politics of the Fourth Era

The 4th Era was full of discovery of comradery. It also had it's fair share of conquest and bloodshed. After The Six freed gaulans and the lesser elves went into hiding, civilization was once again allowed to prosper. When the now royal families claimed the sites of their future capitals, a truce was writ. None of the Six great houses could bear arms against one another. There was no sanctions scribed, no punishment put to page, this truce was one of honor and respect that was bestowed upon the 6 heroes who saves the realm of man. This truce would last until almost the end of the 4th Era where the folly of man took over the mainland Gaul.

The Empire of Iron began taking its continent back from the warlords and tribes who laid claim to it in the unrest and destruction of civilization.
A group of northerners who tout that they were never held in slavery by the horrid Onyx Elves began a small gathering at the bottom point of Adrarct. They fought alongside the final push but were quick to temper and fought with many soldiers, mocking their years of captivity.
The largest gaulan held land was that of the Verki in the North. This area was built up by all people who rallied behind Dhara and the Six. Jandar Verki allowed hundreds of thousands of soldiers into his land to fight the last of the retreating Onyx Elves. The north was used as a holding point for its access to water, fish and lumber. The Onyx elves were seemingly marching for a long forgotten gateway at the top of the world, escaping the revenge of man who was held in obedience for a millennium.

The Iron Empire quickly claimed back Steelgale, many of the weary settlements accepted the Empire with open arms.
The Frelheid attacked the northern stronghold of the Verki Clan while also escaping and claiming land on Gaul.
Jandar's resources were spread very thin after the final push and ascendance of Dhara, it took all his people had to feed and house the army of the 6 Heroes of Galfin.

Even though Ivorus gave up his title, he was still a field general. He hated politics and loved fighting. Even injured from his beast hunt years previous, Ivorus quelled many clan wars in the Heathlands. A battle in this year proved the Windslayer’s honor and gained the conquered Rawlin clan as a generational ally.
The Durkeson clan grew quickly as an antagonist in the heathlands.
The Frelheid continued attacking the Verki and claimed their ancestral fortress of Berg Verki, the ice walled fortress. The Aldurblud, one of the most ancient bloodlines gain a stronghold in the north.

On Steelgale, the Empire of Iron had allied with The House of Skytracer’s missionaries as the Dharan Religion spread through the realm. They took and converted most of their lands except for Blackfall, a city very devout to a long forgotten matron deity.
The now rich House of Skytracer officially declared their country of Erod Mercadia. Erod being a dwarfism word for stronghold and Mercadia being named after the oldest known Skytracer and famed cartographer Mercator.
The Windslayer clan expanded fast as more clans tried to take power. An ally was forming in House Tevesh who hated the Duskmane’s.

4E, 300th - 399th Year (256 BHM-157 BHM)

As the expansion into the mountains was sought and the spellbooks of yore became dedicated to training soldiers, the Oakhand’s still seeking their identity once again changed their title to Jaggedking.
The North continued a storied war leaving the settlements tired and defeated. The North Freld proved stubborn as they dug their heels into a losing battle. The Verki and Aldurblud knew patience would win them their home back. To the northeast, a Dwarven nation called The Hold was formed.
The countries of man expanded further into elf territory. The strange adaptive species were still in their self isolation after an elf race crushed civilization for a millennium. The elves were hated and feared as they grew more solitary. Even though man expanded, little conflict happened between the races as the elves feared rather vengeance of gaulan and gaulan feared the elves as if they were a fear filled story told to children.

During their battles with the Duskmane’s clan, House Tevesh sought aide from a dark power lurking within their province. The Grimbind family would corrupt and coerce many villages to succumb to the allure of vampyrism.
Ivoria and Erod Mercadia continued their assault after the werewolves were quelled to now attack thei former allies the Tevesh, for even an alliance could be broken for those indebted to a Grimbind.
