Orbicus of Sleep
The Orbicus of Sleep is a radiant artifact tied to Twilight’s power, a crystalline sphere glowing with soft, pulsing light. It once rested in Dawnlight, serving as a conduit between the dreamscape and the mortal realm. With its theft, Twilight’s influence over the Weave weakened, leaving the realm vulnerable to the Lucidity’s encroachment. The Orbicus is said to resonate with the dreams of all mortals, capable of restoring balance if returned to its rightful place.
The stolen artifact that must be returned to Dawnlight to reconnect the dreamscape with Twilight. Any Sleeping projections cannot leave and their mortal bodies grow weaker.
The Orbicus of Sleep was once the beating heart of Dawnlight, a radiant sphere of white marble that hovered serenely above the mirrored lake at the city’s center. A direct conduit to Twilight, the goddess of dreams, the Orbicus served as a nexus of divine power, channeling her will into the Weave and stabilizing its myriad threads.
Its surface was smooth yet faintly translucent, and within its core danced the faint outline of shifting dreams—swirling constellations of mortal thought and imagination. The Orbicus’ mere presence brought harmony to the Weave, ensuring the dreams of mortals flowed without interference or corruption.
Yet the Orbicus was stolen by agents of the Lucidity, plunging Dawnlight into chaos. Without it, the city’s defenses have weakened, and the balance of the Weave has faltered. Creatures of nightmare and delusion grow bolder, threatening to overrun the dream-realm’s sanctuaries. The loss of the Orbicus has also left the Dream Herald untethered, her actions growing increasingly erratic and dangerous.
