Conveyance of the Green

Conveyance of the Green/Summer of Smoke 5th of Aridheat, 187th Year of the Fifth Era   Logline You are bearing witness to an event that happens once only every 3500 years. For many cycles, before man and elf bickered over borders you had the Giantfolk, the fae and the mighty Oakenfolk. Also known as Treants, these large tree-like beings wander the woods, lumbering through their days as they watch over the Incantum Forest. A close relationship has formed between the Treants and the Wood Elves of Galfin.   Each ethnicity of elf maintains two leaders known as a Courtship. The Oakenfolk allow each tribe to bring two guests with them to witness the Conveyance of the Green. This is when the elder Treants lay themselves to rest by planting their old moss covered bodies into the heritage site known as the Botonoron. This allows their consciences to be woven with the root system of the forest. As they pass on they hand their titles to the next generation of Oakenfolk, allowing their spirits to be reached by anyone who seeks aid within the Green. The titles would be known to those who are invited, as a sign of respect, wood elf elders teach the young about the Oakenfolk as they are as old as the forest themselves.   Wakener of the Woods - The Treant tasked with making sure the flowers and animals of the forest wake each and every day. If the sun is shining then the Wakener works. Mossfoot   Shepherd of the White Herd - The direct connection to the Tree mother Kishar, the patron deity of the forests of Galfin. Yewclaw   Protector of the Grove - The leader of the Oakenfolk and the one designated to keeping his kin and all that reside within the forest safe from all harm. Hedgecrown   Botanical Archdruid - The treant who can mend any plant, grow any shrub and find any herb. The bearer of this title is the utmost master on all things green and growing. Willowberry   Greendreamer of the Botonoron - This ent remains in the Botonoron, a place where one can seek knowledge from the forest long past. They tend to the planted elders and ensure their spirits live on through the roots of Incantum. Timbermane     Notes   Conductress Kiri of the Hyasinth Elves   Tykren, Protector of the Conductress and her people     Archmage Harmon, Leader of the Kerrian Magocracy   Anithar Caldwell, Protector of Archmage   Saavi Oveluus, [Spymaster]Noble of the Kerrian Courtship     Mirecountess Drench of the Bayooan Elves   Raymound, Accomplished Merchant of fine wares from the Boggan Swamp.   Alder, Half-Giant Bodyguard, indebted to the Elves of the Mire     Acontim Wolfsbane (Bane) Leader of the Deathnettle,   Adric Sunskin, Lantrun of the Merkaynian Enclave in the Forest.   Finna’Fric, Loyal Scout of the Rootfather of Eleyond.     What you know   Tyrek You have worked for many years trying to settle your conscience as you protect the Courtship of the Hyasinth Elves. They lives in a protected valley inside the Firefang Jags. They migrated here many moons ago due to the safety and the acoustics of the surrounding. These elves communicate with each other in song and hymns. You are not a singer per se, but you have a duty to protect elves because of your troubled past. You are aware that all 5 other Courts of Wood Elves do not get along well with your selected tribe. They are a strange folk, eating fruits and bugs as protein. They do not sing to other races, as they consider all other forms of music other than their own terrible to listen to. They are socially awkward and when traveling with one you will see that they might need help when getting through a social interaction.   Anithar You travel amongst the richest elf and most powerful mage in Kerri, Archmage Harmon. Or at least that is what he tells everyone. The High Elves think themselves better than most and you have that same level of pretentiousness. You know your race is of a greater birth than other, most of the Elven Courts you are fine with but the High (Kerrian) Elves and the Swamp (Bayooan) Elves you are not a fan of, they have no magical prowess and live in the mud.   Saavi You travel as a simple noble of the Kerrian Elves, invited alongside the Archmage Harmon. Both you and him know that you are not what they say. You are another weapon alongside the warrior being brought along. You may be able to damage someone more than any soldier as you can scar victims for life. You look down on most races but make due with your elven cousins. The only one you really treat worse is the Bayooan elves of the Mire, they simply repulse you with their lizard-like tendencies and lack of magic. The horse carriages are being pulled behind by rhinos   Raymound You travel with the Mirecountess towards Eleyond, you are bitter already as is she because you are meeting to travel with a contingent of elves in Kerri the High Elf capitol. Their pretentious Archmage bickered and whined to have the procession start near his home. You are bothered by this because you already do not like the High Elves but this meeting spot is the long way around when your home is one of the closest to Eleyond.   Adric As a esteemed member of the Merkaynian Enclave, you preach their motto of Live Right, No Different in the Dark Nor Light. You were invited by the Rootfather because the Enclave is looked so well upon and Rootfather Anthura Wolfsbane thought you could be extra protection for all his royal guests. On top of that, you have already received the tribute from the Cutleaf elves who will not attend. They have shut their borders a few years previous after their Princess Alyssum was attacked by an outsider. You now meet the royal procession as they make the journey to Eleyond to bear witness to the Conveyance of the Green, when the 5 Cathedral Treants of the Forest pass on their titles to the next generation of Oakefolk. You know this time, which only happens once every 3500 years is when the forest is most vulnerable as the Cathedral Oakenfolk lay themselves to rest in the Botonoron.   Finna’Fric (Fin) You have arrived at the beginning of the Royal Procession towards Eleyond. Each Court of Elves is there, some royals had already made it to your second home of Eleyond. YOu have gathered the royal tribute of Pyrecooe bracelets from the frigid Snowpoint as they chose not to send any emissary to this. Your fur holds up better then most Wood Elves except the Thistlepine themselves. You greet the convoy as you await your leader, Acontim Wolfbane, leader of the most efficient military in the Forest, the Deathnettle. Most people simply call him Bane.     Act 1 Begin the convoy once the son of the Eleyond Rootfather arrives. Acontim Wolfsbane (Bane) arrives after you talk amongst yourselves. The High Elves were the last to arrive as Harmon runs on his own schedule. You set off for the day journey through the wood, he takes you through Ursine Path, an oddly jagged peak inside the woods, its size is only rivaled by the Botonoron itself and the Elder trees of Eleyond. On the way there you stop as a Cathedral Oakenfolk walks past you, the ground shakes. Young Oakenfolk talk in riddle and rhyme but the Cathedral Treants dont speak to humans anymore. Because of the Cathedral Seed passed onto the, they outlive their families by thousands of years as they complete their duties to the woods. The one passing you is the Protector of the Grove. He is tasked with protecting the other 4 Cathedral Oakenfolk as they lay themselves to rest to eventually pass on their seeds to five new ents. During this time, they are vulnerable. As the elders age, all oakenfolk become vulnerable but most in the woods revere them so much they never act against them.   Travel through Beithir Path, meet Kodiak, a werebear elf who is seeking someone who has been killing small creatures. He seeks an ice druid. The wounds are similar to ice magic but the frost elves died off 16 years before this in 171 so it must be a human mage.   You carry on and pass the Botonoron, where the ceremony will take place. It dwarfs the mountain you saw earlier.   The Oakenfolk who are not planted here will gather in 2 days to have the chance to be given the bestowment of Cathedral oaenfolk and take the Cathedral Seed from the 5 current holders.   You camp out for 1 night and see blue flames in the forest, Bane assumes they are simply willowips, animals spirits who died in fire who have not passed on. Be weary as they bring the warning of trouble.   On your way to the city a large mass blocks the path. This is the Greendreamer of the Botonoron. This goliath of wood lie dead on the ground in front of you, purple ooze puring from its bark. Bane says that you need to take the Seed or else the no one will be able to tend to the memories of the ancients housed within the roots of the forest.   Unfortunately as you peel back to where its heart would be, the seed, which is the size of a human shield is rotten and decayed   Bane explains that this could only have been done by someone that knows the wood elf customs, the treants are at their weakest during the final days. The Protector who walked past earlier is guarinf the bodies his other ents. Usuallly the Shepherd of the White Herd is the last to arrive as it is the quickest. The Greendreamer goes to rest last, to complete the ceremony, without him, the Conveyance of the Green cannot commence the next day. This poison is known to be a slow burning poison, it had to have magic involved to affect a treant. This poison was set to kill the treant over the course of a day   Next day you make it to Eleyond, the elder tree city. Swinging pendulums move people between trees, many houses are built amongst the trees on the ground. When you leave your home, you must transplant a branch of the elder tree and grow your home, yuo must not use chloromnacy to speed up the process. This causes elves to live off the land for 1 year before they can start building their homes.       You quickly head up to the Caer Ophiamber, the war room of the Elves. Rarely used anymore. The leaders of the Courts convene. Guunthuur and Drench, Anvara (F) and Vervain (M) Wolfsbane, Kiri and Luciano, and Harmon all take their seats, you accompany them to back up Bane’s story.   Anvara stands and speaks to all. “We must ask of you something important. Not all of you are elves (looks to Fin), and not all of you have great histories with us, (she looks to both Alder and Tyrek.) But today amongst all days, we need your help. It was odd anyways but the Greendreamer known as Timbermane stopped by Eleyond on his walk to the Botonoron. The Cathedral Resting Place. He seemed to sense something but as he did not speak, he simply rested here last night and carried on this morning.   No elves have left the gates of Eleyond as they conjure here for the Green Succession, where the entire forest lights up glowing green as the Conveyance of the Green commences. It would be odd for someone to leave so our scouts would have seen them. This means one of the people within the walls had to have given the Greendreamer the poison.   The ceremony is taking place here as some Oakenfolk also reside within Eleyond. We need you to find out who did this so we dont have a panic. Act 2   Investigate the ceremony, many willowisps are playing around the ceremony people are having a good time, folk are getting confused by the oakenfol there.   Dusseldorf, Elven mailman, helpful, reveals that he arrived today, walked into the city with Nightshade who was also coming in from a trip. Nightshade, Grovecaster, with RootMother, she is dying. He then joined the party Hilda Tended to the treant, tries to escape Wilt, cannibal Soaring Griffin [Griff], swamp elf mystic who traveled here with Guunthuur Nootka, unofficially here to watch the ceremony, her daughter is safe but would not like her coming here officially. Searching for Hilda Conductress Kiri With you Maestro Luciano Is an idiot Mirecountess Drench With you, her husband was unfaithful while he was here Mirecount Guunthuur Lies about where he was, cheating with a wood elf Archmage Harmon With you Root Father Vervain Says he was in the elder tree, Root Mother Anvara Says she was in the elder tree, Lies about her whereabouts she was being tended by the doctors for terminal illness. Cinderlord Burley Has been here drinking and partying for the last few days Conjurer Searen His wife attests to that and is annoyed. Halduur Forest half giant   Nightshade talks to you first but people allude to him sneaking out His cabin has man magical machination You find a line of herbs drawing out a logo, a question mark     Part 2     The last Cathedral Ent is seen outside the forest. The Shepherd of the White Herd The Deathnettle won't let anyone but you out.   The best was attacked on its way to the Botonoron. It is fighting the poison but there is some magic to it that he could not have foreseen.   The treant shaped like a wolf who herds deers awaits you. He speaks without moving his mouth. Someone is trying to stop the Conveyance of the Green. A rot is beginning to spread in the woods, I can feel and so could the others, this is what caused the Greendreamer to go off course and investigate Eleyond. The power of the Cathedral Grove depends on all creates of the woods. This is why I request your aid. The Will o Wisps in the woods have been corrupted by a dark power. Our power weakens if we have no one to believe in us. At this point a large green explosion happens somewhere in the forest behind you, fire begins to rage as the will o wisps run from the city. Unfortunetley as soon as they enter the woods, they ignite into flame as well, children and adults alike being screaming. They knew that taking the Greendreamer was the fastest way. They might not know that the seeds are not locked to one ent. I will give you my cathedral seed. I as the shepherd will pass what power I have to try and maintain this form. But with that seed, you must save all you can of the denizens of the woods and then bring that seed to the Botonoron, place it inside the Greendreamer’s place and hope the spirits take it. Go to the city,   Halduur saves a woman with your help but she slaps him and runs off save Snakeroot next to a broken basket in the river. Bane runs to find his son Yarrow. Halduur assists you in what needs to be done. Houses are collapsing, neighing is coming out of the carriage cages brought with Harmon as his gift to the Elves of Eleyond     Make your way to the botonoron on perytons brought by the highelves   Fight fire beasts through the way to the botonoron   Nightshade is sitting in the Botonoron poisobibg the Seeds. The Protector is held down         Give each player info they would know about the other factions. Conversation points.   The Ghaean Council is the 12 Male and Female leaders of the 6 Wood Elf Courts.   Each Elven Courtship has one guest with them and one bodyguard.   Begin at a waiting point on the North Royal Trade Route awaiting Acontin Wolfbanes   Start in Eleyond with the new treants. Talk to people, have fun RPing, learn some stuff.   Botonoron you enter the legendary sanctum of the Oakenfolk to watch the Elder Ents plant themselves to pass on the mantle of Greendreamer, Wakener of the Woods, Shepherd of the White Herd and Protector of the Grove.   Wakener of the Woods Shepherd of the White Herd Protector of the Grove Botanical Archdruid Greendreamer of the Botonoron   Ceremony completes as you fend off poisonous cats Return to Eleyond with the treants to celebrate Report of the Cats, sent to speak or arrest the Ent known as Drifrott   He tells you that you have been played. He is a hermit, nothing to gain from becoming a Cathedral Treant.   The real trouble is already taking place   Smoke fills the canopy as orange flame covers the dry beush on the forest floor. It quickly escalates and this is no longer about stopping it. It is about saving as many in Eleyond as you can.   Blue flamescan be seen on your way, you are attacked by hellcats.   The town is in disarray,   The fire elves from the mountains have ran here to try and calm the flames.   Snakeroot’s parents died running to the water, a burnt wicker basket lay at the riverside and a toddler cries out for his slain parents.   You know this is not an accident. You seek out the blue fire and find a young human casting this fire. It causes first freezing and then burning, this odd fire as well as the summoned hellbeasts are the responsible for the fire   This human is pale and skeeltal, looks almost undead but not a vampire. This is a draugr. It fights for it’s master and mentions the name Winterblood.   On his back is a tattoo of a green question mark with purple stripes.   The runt giant dies to this person.
