Agates Gnome

ancient race who built the old structure of pre history. Now extinct   sometimes refeered to as the Marble Gnomes for the ancient statues they used to carve in marble   Dungeons/structures in this world that are very old are close to the build date of the Pit, a Wonder of the ancient world. These ancient structure that predate even the Human-Elf wars were built by a now extinct, brilliant sub-race of Gnomes. The Agates Gnomes, sometimes referred to as the Marble Gnomes for the delicate sculptures they carved were the crowning civilization millennia ago. They disappeared from the face of the realm so long ago that historians debate what could have happened to them. Most assume some sort of mass extinction event was the only thing that could have caused the sudden fallout of this smart gnome race.   There is evidence that the world was a different shape many years before. For at least Gaul, Mizyak and Steelgale share similar minerals on their coastlines. Also tying back to the ancient gnomon builders, Agates Gnome structures can be found all over. This could simply mean they were sea faring or that the lands were once not as we see them today.   The initial split of the mega continent, thousands or more years ago was foreseen by the intelligent Agates Gnomes. The civilization did not tire and built what are seen as mega dungeons into the ground beneath the earth. These structures were meant as a bracing to hold weak points of the splitting continent together. Throughout millennia these structures have been use as hideouts, homes, treasure torves and torture chambers. Many of the old mechanical stone ears still turns as the fine gnomon craftmanship holds up well to the test of time, outliving even the gnomes themselves.
