The Pendulum of Altheria
Universal Timekeeper
It is said that the island of Altheria was home to the clock tower in which this pendulum used to swing. This clock tower was rumored to control the passage of time across the universe. And the pendulum's eternal swinging was seen as either a representation of this control or was itself the center of this power. The old tales say that Althea could slow or speed up the pendulum as she wished, but no one would be able to tell because their perception of time stayed the same.
A Masterpiece of Workmanship
Although no one has seen the pendulum in living history, nor in the last millennia, a small tome once washed up on the shores of Judera. This tome represents all the knowledge the world has on Altheria other than tales passed through generations upon generations. Within this book is a drawing of what appears to be the pendulum of Altheria.
The pendulum is intricately forged out of some sort of metal. It has a long, winding shaft which appears to resembled intertwined vines, complete with leaves and flowers along the length. The bob of the pendulum is large and has an intricate design worked into it. It is a circular pattern, and some believe it is meant to represent the universe's life cycle. Others theorize it is simply a testament to Althea and her children, the deities of Galactus. Still others believe it retells the story of the Era of Chaos. Regardless, the center of this design is occupied by what appears to be a large, spherical stone. This may be the actual soul anchor of Althea herself, or simply a decoration which the designers added.
