Rodent
Rodent is characterized by the chittering sounds which dominate it, produced at the front of the mouth. There are many different kinds of chitters, indistinguishable to those who do not pay attention. Rodent also makes use of the squeaks and chirps characteristic of rodentfolk. There are two main dialogues of Rodent, Rattish and Mousian. These have been developed by ratfolk and mousefolk, respectively. The Rattish dialogue employs longer syllables and smoother transitions between each syllable, whereas Mousian utilizes short, staccato chirps and higher pitched chitters.
Rodent is primarily a spoken language, but some rodentfolk have developed a simple written language, utilizing logographic imagery. Likewise, some rodentfolk include paw or body gestures to emphasize what is being conveyed.
