Krobesh

To the east of Qopith lies the archipelago of Krobesh. Its islands are vastly different from one another, in both climate and terrain.

Islands

Krobesh consists of a group of seven large islands in the middle of the Grey Ocean. Each of these islands has its own unique environment.

Kobesh

The largest island in Krobesh, Kobesh is the central hub of island trade. Its skyline is dominated by the rugged peak of its mountain, Iopis. The rest of the island is covered by lush, dense rainforest and white beaches. From a spring in Iopis runs a wide river, falling down the mountain’s slopes until it splits into two rivers at the base, Ventram and Bennora. At the river’s fork sits the bustling city of Soluq, the island’s capital. Two other cities, Mesnia and Figora, lie at the mouths of each river.

Ugeron

To the northwest of Kobesh sits the island Ugeron, roughly one-third the size of Kobesh. Largely uninhabited, Ugeron is comprised of dry heathland, with gentle slopes and little rainfall. Most of the freshwater on Ugeron is deep underground, making the island unsuitable for sustaining large populations. There are no major cities on this island.

Hobrun

East of Kobesh is the island of Hobrun. This island is covered entirely in tropical coniferous forest. It is slightly larger than Ugeron, and much more suited for civilization. Fresh water is found easily in its network of ponds and streams. Hobrun is home to one city, Kharov, built on the northern shores of the island.

Napux

Just south of Hobrun, the island Napux presents an impressive profile. Stretching high into the sky, the island is home to a vast, dormant volcano, known as Lion's Rage. Many thousands of years ago, the volcano erupted to create all the islands of Krobesh, then fell into a deep sleep. Now, the remnants of that eruption have left Napux with fertile soil. The combination of this good earth and mild, warm climate make it the perfect place to grow citrus and tropical fruits. The island is covered with fruit orchards. A single city, Sengil, lies at the base of Lion's Rage. The old lava tunnels inside the peak have become home to a large clan of lion dragons, who guard the city and its surrounding orchards, vineyards, and farms.

Illain

Illain is the southernmost island in the chain. Its dry, warm climate has allowed a tropical savannah, dotted with trees, to fluorish. Like Ugeron, however, Illain does not offer enough fresh water sources to support cities, and the island remains largely uninhabited.

Napren

Napren, immediately south of Kobesh, has the lowest elevation of all the islands. It is so low that nearly all of the island is submerged in muddy saltwater, leading to the growth of an expansive mangrove swamp. There are a few higher banks along the edges of the island, where the mangrove trees give way to palm groves. This environment is home to tribes of frog- and lizardfolk, but is too hostile for any other civilization. There are no cities on Napren.

Ozesh

The final island of Krobesh is Ozesh, situated between Hobrun, Napren, Kobesh, and Napux. It is covered in dense rainforest and has yet to be thoroughly explored. Not many have been able to navigate far into the forest, and many explorers do not return. Some suspect the presence of dangerous and hostile creatures, while others speculate about a hidden city of gold so wondrous that none want to leave, but it is most likely that the rainforest is just too dense and tangled for explorers to avoid getting lost.
