Hana
•As an Aque’la Seregan, Hana is Aquiborn, a Seregan connected to the Blauri Gaioforce, instead of the Garonis Gaioforce. It is speculated that only 2-3 Blauri Seregans are born every generation, all on Aque’la. As such, many Aquiborn choose to marry other Aquiborn to increase their chances of creating Blauri offspring. Given their unique power set, these families often become “noble” houses on Aque’la. Hana’s parents are an Aquiborn woman & and Garonis woman, who were able to give natural birth to her through manipulation of their powers. When she was 5, her Aquiborn mother went on one of the last expeditions to Aikanos (largest/most population undersea continent in terms of sentient societies) and never returned, leaving Hana & her Garonis mother to wonder whether she died or abandoned them. Seregan society does not look down on same-sex relationships (since they can manipulate their biology to bypass the typical problems), but the Aque’lan society viewed Hana’s Aquiborn mother differently for not marrying a fellow Aquiborn.
•The Aikanos Expeditions were a program instituted by Aque’lan leaders to facilitate alliances with their underwater counterparts. However, most participants never came back, with the few that did stating that their companions either died or fell in love with the underwater world, choosing to stay. To this day, she was unsure whether they died or abandoned her, and the Aquelan leaders chose to end the program so as to not lose any more of their people. While they were liberal in enforcement against Garonis Seregans, they were strict on Aquiborn, since they believed Blauri-users to be a greater defection risk than others.
