GB Chapter 18: Ghost Town

General Summary

Opening

• Fork Draconius & Balcazar scavenged the bodies; Fork & Draconius make decent pelts, while Balcazar gets a full, badass pelt. They all scavenge the mammoth tusks; Balcazar gets samples of tusk while Fork gets part of a mammoth tusk cup
• The group decides to eat; Balcazar Hungry Jaws some mammoth meat and cuts up some for later, while Draconius gets a mammodon leg.
• The group scavenges the bodies for valuables; Balcazar finds none, Draconius finds minimal rations, and Fork finds a mammoth necklace.
• After rigging up their meat, the gang debates whether they wanna tie up the mammoth carcass. Draconius makes a rope out of mammoth hair and ties a mammodon corpse (the one with a missing leg) by its neck to the back of the carriage.
• The group flies the carriage to the mountain and finds a small cave on the upper half; Master Obu & Rexy see where they landed, but have to scale the mountain to get there (takes them out of the session today)
• Stonius seems out of it and Plaezus is in deep thought. The group heads into the cave (leaving behind the carriage). As they get deeper, they hear a noise; Fork investigates and finds a Yeti’s cave. They decide to trick it out of the room; Balcazar uses Mage Hand to lift 6.9 pounds of mammoth meat and Draconius uses Minor Illusion to enhance the smell to something exotic. During their plot, the yeti spots the warlocks, but Fork sneaks and Stunning Strikes the yeti for 8 damage

Round 1

• Fork - Casts Enhanced Strike and hits the yeti for 19 damage. Hits again for 7 damage. 34 total to Yeti.
• Balcazar - Casts Chill Touch for 16 necrotic damage, then shoots Madrakor’s Gauntlet for 5 damage, killing the yeti (700 XP).

Aftermath

• Fork grabs the bag and becomes possessive. Draconius negotiates and they dump the bag. Find three scrolls
• Long Rests and travel 2 days to the nearest frost elf settlement of mystery; Draconius communicates through the Thugoran Crystal and reads about languages & the Thugoran Chaos from his book, Fork makes a mammoth tusk drinking horn, and Balcazar becomes proficient in the Greataxe. Stonius trades his Frostfire Boomerang Axe for Balcazar’s Greataxe.
• They find a seemingly abandoned Frost Elf and go into a tavern; get in a fight with a ghost and spend money (Balcazar, Draconius & Fork spend 1 gp each for drinks, Draconius throws 1 gp at ghost)

• Ghost 1: Does Horrifying Visage, Draconius is frightened and Stonius is ready
• Stonius: Casts Rouzhai Flare for 6 fire damage on ghost
• Draconius & Balgura: Casts Summon Greater Demon for a Balgura. The Balgura casts Entangle to grab the ghost, but it is immune. Draconius casts a Flamonius Echo, who is unhappy to see him

Round 2

• Ghost 1: Hits Stonius with Withering Touch, dealing 17 necrotic damage
• Stonius: Casts Gamma Ray for 15 radiant damage
• Draconius & Balgura: Commands Flamonius to the ghost, using a ghostly Soul Scythe, deals 12 slashing and hits again for 14 slashing. Kills the ghost via anus slash (1,100 XP) and snatches its soul, maxing out his extra cold/necrotic damage at 6d6

Aftermath

• Draconius pays 2 gp for more drinks
• Shot ends with the guys at the bar and a Mammodon Druid at the other end, who had just entered recently

• 1,800 XP for killing the yeti and a ghost
• Three scrolls with locations of interest (will write stuff up and send by next session, along with a map of Cyregnor)
• -4 gp from Draconius
