    Death of the Kyriarchos
    Life, Death

    The spiritual and political head of Xetlan, the Kyriarchos Indraji, fails to resurrect and no one can understand the reason. Without the unifying leadership of the Kyriarchos, the Xetlanian empire swiftly falls into infighting and numerous political powers declare their independence or their own claims to ultimate authority.

    Wars of Dissonance
    Military: War

    Civil war engulfs Xetlan as the empire splinters into factions, each vying for control or independence over the rest. For more than a century, borders change constantly, multiple battles are staged and great loss of life suffered across the continent. The conflict officially ends with five cities rising to dominate central Mathrava, though tensions and rivalries continue to simmer.

    The Union of the Cups
    Gathering / Conference

    The leaders of the five great city-states of old Xetlan gather at the great temple to Sharivhem near … to put an end to the age-long feuds that have riven the land and severely reduced their strength as a collective peoples. The land has been ravaged over the years of war and allowed fiends and monsters of the wilds to reap havoc. What comes to be known as The Union of the Cups gives birth to a new power, the Sayahat Union, where all the children-nations of old Xetlan set aside their differences and swear to cooperate for the good of all, though they are each free to rule their territories as they see fit.

    The Scar Queens
    Criminal Activity

    In the mountains north of Ajan, a pair of sisters gain infamy as they take the head of a group of bandits. They raid the lowlands and put many towns and villages to the torch, kidnapping the locals and taking them to their mountain hideout. Their infamy draws followers to them, caught up in the legends that swirl around them, until they come to lead a cunning and wide-reaching army that raid the lands across the length and breadth of Xetlan.

    Death of the Scar Queens
    Life, Death

    The bandit Scar Queens are each slain after a long and costly campaign waged by Ajan to finally put pay to their crimes. The union army is led by the king of Ajan, who is slain in the final battle by the surviving sister before she herself is slain. The mountain bandit city is razed, though so vast was their network of followers that their legacy is impossible to destroy utterly.

    War of the Cats
    Military: War

    The city-state of Jaffa is riven by civil war as two cousins vie for the throne, each claiming to be the rightful claimant. The civil war drags on over three years until the Vardamish claimant emerges victorious over the rival Havramin challengers. The war is brutal and pulls in forces from the other city-states of the union before it is resolved.

    The Last of the Halana
    Extinction

    The revered creatures known as Halana, worshipped as a sacred beast associated with Indraji, are seen less and less across central Mathrava, until they seemingly vanish altogether. This causes a crisis of faith across the nation, with many believing Indraji and the gods have turned from them. The Covenant of the Immaculate offer great rewards for news on any surviving Halana and many priests of the various faiths redouble their efforts into ensuring the peoples faith remains strong.

    Refugees from Suihai
    Population Migration / Travel

    The land of Suihai to the north of Mathrava is devastated utterly by the clash of three warring dragons, who fought without a care for the mortals who worshipped them. A number of survivors who managed to flee aboard a fleet of boats sailed southwards and landed in broken fragments all along the eastern coast of Mathrava. In Xetlan, a portion of the refugees arrive in the lands controlled by Rashkut. The Rashkuti are on-the-whole accommodating, and attempt to settle the Suihaian’s in their lands, though relations remain strained among the locals and the refugees.

    Child of the Dais
    Religious event

    A fervour grips the people of Xetlan as new spreads from Jaffa. A young human child, Vipin, is discovered asleep within the vaults of the Temple of the Immaculate, upon the Dias of Splendour. Around him, scrawled in red paint in his own hand was a prophecy whose translation had long eluded Indraji’s priests and scholars. Though Vipin could not recall how he had gotten into the temple, or of writing the message, he his hailed as a new prophet of the long lost Kyriarchos. The priesthood raise him up and begin a holy march to spread news of his miracle and message across the land.
