Mordred vows to enact a personal, terrible revenge on those who have defied him and slain his followers. Upon hearing of the forces arraying against him to the south, he puts into action a terrible reprisal.   Before his atrocity can be completed however, he is finally brought down once and for all, not from without but within.

To punish those who dared defy his will, Mordred enacts a terrible plan to avenge himself. From his foreboding estate in Somiochr, he intends to enact a spell that will manifest the essence of a fiend into the body of every person in Rilga. His few remaining followers enacted rituals of their own across the region, fuelling Mordred’s spell so that none would be spared be spared.   Had Mordred’s plan succeeded, Aldwin and the Langharadian’s would have marched into the jaws of a nation of possessed monstrosities. Fortunately, Mordred’s ultimate downfall comes at the hands of his own countrymen, rather than any foreign adversary.   For well over a hundred years, the seeds of rebellion had spread throughout Rilga against Mordred and his sycophants. The rebellious brotherhood, naming themselves the Skeinwynd, cautiously and gradually worked to undermine Mordred, in the hope of eventually overthrowing him.   Now finally at the close, they seized their moment when their opponent was distracted. Across Rilga, the torches of revolution were lit, and the Skeinwynd led the outraged populace of Rilga in a devastating coup. One after another, Mordred’s acolytes were foiled and either slain or routed from the land. As his grand spell faltered, the leaders of the Skeinwynd stormed his estate and engaged him in a ferocious battle. While a number among them did not survive, the Skeinwynd eventually were able to fell Mordred, his body destroyed utterly. At last, the world was rid of Mordred and is cruelty.
