Cabairon
The Warden of the Wood
Cabairon is a mythic figure within the Callair Forest, and his cult is one of the few things that bind the disparate, bickering clans together. Legend tells that he was once a mortal satyr of the Lostaja clan, who one day bound his soul to that of the forest itself during a time of great strife, referred to in Callair myth as the Darkening Hours.
Cabairon had been a warrior without equal within the forest, and after he became the forest's avatar, his power was said to rival that of the titans. He became a defender and protector of the forest itself, and all those who call it home. He fought all those who threatened the forest and its denizens for centuries, his lifetime extended by the forest's power. When he finally died in battle against a malevolent human sorcerer, his followers interred him on a sacred island within Lake Gwyndyr. The lake became a place of pilgrimage to those who venerated the Warden of the Wood, and over time it grew into the largest settlement in the Callair, led by the leaders of Cabairon's cult.
What few know is that, despite his mortal body passing from the world, Cabairon's spirit lingers on, bound to the Callair for as long as it remains. Cabairon knows that there are still threats to the Forest's sanctity and he is always seeking for worthy folk to continue his work in defending and preserving the woodland realm.
Appearance.
When Cabairon manifests himself before mortals, he still retains his satyrish form, but always his face is concealed behind his famed helmet, framed by stags antlers. He radiates a soft, verdant green light, and he carries his old weapons of war, a tall, leaf-shaped spear and crescent shield.Symbol
