Ahi Daughter of Ambi

Retired Bladesinger Ahi Daughter of Ambi

At the heart of things, Ahi is a family oriented person. Be that family of her blood , the temple in which she was raised, or the folks she served with in the Prayakotum army. Stoic, but somewhat crude in her sense of humour, Ahi carries herself with a lightness that masks her inner struggle with the experiences associated with being in the military until recently.   She wears the colors and fatigues of a retired officer, her turban marking her as one of the bladesingers. Her adjustment to civilian life has taken some time, but she seems to be settling into it. She is patriotic, and carries a particularly vocal disdain for the current scourge of banditry around the country.   She has been working for the guild for a little over a year, in a veteran reintroduction programme, and for the most part enjoys her work. Her younger sibling, Avi, works for the same guild as foot runner/messenger, and the two of them can be seen bickering constantly.   One of her younger sisters, Aab, is a sailor on the spiced sea, and her older brother Aja is an officer of middling rank in the army. She talks about her family often, and seems especially fond of her youngest sister Ascharya and her nephews. Those who know her, know she is the daughter of a High Priestess from Temple of the Four Graces , in the town of Najabal. At last count Ahi has 5, soon to be six (maybe seven) half siblings.   Ahi is a woman in her early 30s. She is short, solid and robust. Her hair is cropped short under her turban, and is curly and dark black with a green sheen. Her skin is a darker brown, and seems to be mottled with oranges and greens where her many scars from service cross her body. Her ears are slightly pointed hinting at possible half eleven or halfling ancestry. Her eyes are hazel and sombre, though her face is creased with laugh lines.   Typically you will find her either preparing thoroughly for her missions, reading texts of magical nature or questionable works of popular fiction, or she may be found drinking with friends and fellow retired or in service members of the army. She has a fondness for dice and the game (created by God).

Avi delivered a missive to my quarters this morning. Of course they did, it's not like the guild has a dozen or so other runners to contact it's associates...they were in bright spirts as per usual, and as much as I grumble, it was nice to see them doing well. The word from home is mother is well, and our new sibling, potentially siblings should be born before the winter settles in. While I likely wont meet them for a while yet, I pray each day to Junesh and Jarrat, the powers of our valley and the watchers of our temple mother and the child(ren?) will survive the battle of birth. It sounds like Aschraya and our nephews are driving Anu crazy, but   Avi handed off a novel for me to pass on to Fern when I'm done reading it. Something they aquired from Aab the last time she made port here. The story seems to be of a young boy's journey to the Triton kingdom, him saving a princess of sorts, falling in love, marrying and then going on to have many adventures with her. The missive was from Lakshme Ssilfas herself, and requested the attendance of myself and five other members of the guild. Fern, Ushas and Queaerys I know well enough, but I've only ever seen Keon and Hearty Sea at general meetings. Somehow Ushas managed to FLIRT with her and get the names of both a tailor AND the jeweler who made the broach she wears so proudly.   The meeting was fairly grim. Something has wiped out the entireity of the Jushar farm - only the uncle has survived, as he said he was visiting with his neighbors up the ridge when it happened. His nephew is missing, but everyone else had been slain by something or someone. 6 to 8 folks, 3 miles from our great city, obliterated. What is even more troubling, the livestock the farm is famed for were left alone, and nothing really was stolen from the house. One cross bow is out of place according to the uncle, but nothing elese apart from the house being tossed around.   The city watch is spread thin. They did nothing but help him burry the bodies, scout for the nephew and pay him 70 gold for his losses. The guild mistress has seen an oportunity to try something, while hopefully gaining some closure for her supplier as well.   She gave us the names of a few shops, we bought weapons, health poitions...and some other things...that I do not think Fern should have, but younglings need to learn somehow I guess. We met with the contact in the city guard, and moved to visit the farm. Intially we were going to visit the neighbors to collaborate the mans story, but we were ambused by worgs, 8 of them. 6 did not leave alive, though I am nervous there are two licking their wounds so close to the city and it's surrounding settlements. Especially with the games less than a week away.   We have arrived at the farm, and it is eerie in its emptiness, the cows lowing in the feild have a mournful tone. It is all and all unsettling. I do not like how bold and frequent attacks like this are, but this is especially unsettling as it is so close to the city, and nothing of known value was taken.
