Tsunami

School: Conjuration
Sub-School: Creation
Descriptor: Water
Ritual: No
Level: Primal 9th
Components: Material, Somatic & Verbal
Casting Time: Round
Range: Far
Effect/Target: 300ft wide, 10ft long, 40ft tall Wave, see text
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 Minute
Saving Throw: Strength - Partial   You conjure a towering wave of water, moving 60ft in a direction chosen by you, which cannot be changed.
Any creature who comes into contact with the wave must make a Strength saving throw or take 10d12 Bludgeoning damage.
Additionally, the following effects occur depending on a creature's size:
  • Gargantuan or Colossal - Knocked Prone.
  • Huge or smaller - Picked up and carried by the wave.
A successful save negates the additional effect, and halves the damage taken.   Each Round a creature is carried by the wave, they must make another save and take Bludgeoning damage again.
Additionally, the following properties apply to the creature:
  • Speed reduced to 0.
  • Must succeed a DC 30 Concentration check to continue focusing on spells and abilities.
  • Have Disadvantage on Dexterity saves and Attack rolls.
As a Full action, a creature may attempt a DC 30 Athletics check to swim out of the wave, escaping if they end their movement outside the wave.
Alternatively, another creature may attempt to extract the creature with a DC 20 Strength check.   The wave can be halted by anything large enough to block its line of effect, assuming the obstacle is not immediately destroyed.
If a portion of the wave is blocked, the remaining wave continues as normal.   If the spell is cast in a body of water large enough to fit the wave, the wave is instead 600ft wide, and any saves against its effects are made with Disadvantage.
Once on land, the wave immediately shrinks to its regular size.
The wave does not fade if it moves beyond the spell's range.   Material Component: Radiant Flowing Vaaryte with a value of 2.500g
