Languages

As Gailardia and its planes are home to many types of creatures, so too is the world known for a variety of different tongues.
While some languages are tied directly to individual creatures, others find their home amidst the nations of the material plane, which primarily encompass select races such as the Humans of Melloriah. But even with a common tongue shared between its people, distant corners of any nation may carry unique dialects and accents, or those who live within their borders but remain hidden and speak only the language of their own tribes or clans.   Below you will find a list of general languages used by the creatures and beings of Gailardia, whether Mortal, Draconic, Elemental, or from beyond the Material Plane.   Draconic (Common):

  • Origin (Homeland) - Languages commonly known only by individual clans, tribes, or communities, up to a maximum of 1,000 people.

  • Unique (Individual) - Languages known only to a handful of individuals, such as familiars or eldritch patrons, up to a maximum of 10 creatures.
