Of the major towns in Kessex, Forgested has the most diverse array of cultures and races as it is the only town to openly grant non-humans the same rights and social privileges as their human neighbors. The town's population has recently grown significantly, bringing more trades, commodities, and professions to Forgested. The town square and main roads bustle with activity,
Government
Governed by House Liath, they are a feudal society, although House Liath has a history of being fair and honest rulers. The family of Liath has established additional governing structures within the town that give the populace more interaction and say in upcoming decisions. Additionally, Bryce Liath has removed new anti-magic laws and reinstated religious freedom.
Industry & Trade
Forgested produces a large amount of the Kingdom's wood supply from the nearby logging camp that borders the Torthuil Forest to the south. The law of the land states that as many trees must be planted as are cut down, leading Forgested to have the largest supply of trees to work with. Due to having an on-site sawmill, they not only produce a large amount of wood, but they are also the leading supplier of processed lumber and wood-working crafts in the Kingdom.
Geography
Forgested is nestled on gentle plains. The town's keep is centered on a small scarp and is the center of the township. To the south lies the Torthuil Forest and to the north of the town's wall lies acres of farmlands. As they are not located next to a lake or river, they use a well system.
Natural Resources
The Torthuil Forest provides ample lumber, wild food and game while the farmlands to the north provide plenty of wheat, barley, oats, potatoes, sugar beets, fruits and vegetables. Though not much, the town does have access to livestock, mainly sheep and poultry.
