The Wonders of the Khandra

Imagine if you will, standing in the middle of a desert, where there are potentially fossilized ruins of a civilization that once stood before you. The Mountainous reigns of the this desert despite it's overall smooth look. But instead this Desert has caverns below it, and many Canyons. Accompanying those canyons are crystals, dark crystals brimming to the top with magical properties.   I once walked through these crystal troves the Khandra desert had. It was the most surreal thing since the Crystal Forest back home. Fields of crystals taller than any building I've seen, chasms full with humming and metallic crystals, humming with energy and resonating with a howl of the winds in these crevices. I can imagine the foolish adventurer trying to embark on expeditions here to  try and claim some of those crystals, only to get lost in the karsts below. One has to be careful here, as these caves can open up to underground rivers of lava and pools of magma.   So is this what the Underfoot's gates look like.... No wonder the great city of the region is held aloft by chains strewn into the lands, The entire city is built over a leyline! Who built this place....I don't know, but the Isiq sure had no problem calling it their home, resourceful and enigmatic the little rodents are.   ~Scholar Kenshuo Siyatama,  Guild of Lore.
