On the Great Faedark

The Great Faedark is a series of mega-fauna forests of northern Ahquen. This mysterious forest is one of the largest, and is home to many mythical and mystical forces. We first have the Lesser Faedark, which is a sprout and spring of Flowers, roots, vines and sometimes fungi. The origin story behind these woods is that the elves whom call this place home worship a dragon known as Wooshu.   Wooshu is an elder dragon, a god in some eyes, that calls the center of the Faedark his home. Not many are allowed to see him, but he is sacred to the cultures of northern Ahquen.   In order to get to the faedark there is a complex system of rivers and mountains that one must traverse, and they cut right into the dense woodlands of the Faedark. The deeper you go the darker it gets almost into a world of constant twilight. If it falls to night, the forest can suddenly change before your eyes. It is not recommended to travel here during the night let alone at all. Dense shrubs, and fauna will soon overtake your senses, the aroma of flowers leading you astray. The entire forest covered in the canopy by massive Elder Greens.   The Eldergreen trees, they are what is left of the prehistoric Gaia. These trees even dwarf the renown redwoods in the more damp warmer spots. These trees tower over you like a skyscraper and cover miles and miles of land. The leaves too thick to let most sunlight through. Sure there are roads, dirt and gravel roads lit by torch, but these do need maintenance. Sometimes the lamps aren't even maintained or lit. These roads spread from trails like a spiderweb in the underbrush of a jungle.   There are rumors that there are massive cities built in these trees, that tower high above the ground. No wonder the Wood elves call this place home. They of course share it with other races, usually magical in nature. Not many who traverse the Underwoods are seen again. Perhaps they were taken by the elves, maybe taken to the Mythical Wooshu for a sacrifice? There is a certain magic here, that hovers ominously through the air. You can feel it as soon as you hit the damp and cool air of the Lesser Fae. Maybe it's slowly growing? Retaking the land it once called home? No one knows.   Do be careful though, to not get lost.
