Maelstrom, the Storm of the North

What was always with the north? A land of mystical and enchanting landscapes, half the continent is ice and snow. Hearty folk must be the only ones that call it home! The continent itself has a storied history of warrior tribes and martial nations competing to live in the harsh arctic and highlands of the continent. It is curious to note that the Combine Empire's presence on this land is lacking.   Why is it lacking though? The guild of Lore did everything it can to check out the lands. Not many ruins, the only ruins we recorded were that of Mythian, Saaslandic, and the Twilight lands of Avatar. The three nations of great power that call this land home, the beastfolk, sadly have not many strongholds here. We have the mouse- like Mythi who usually integrate themselves within Mythian lands. We have the Silverwind Gnolls, who once had a great empire of thier own, the pioneers of airship travel at that. The Spiritual Ferrians whom act as temple monks to the Nominican Life Font. The only race we see that holds power here have got to the the draconic Dramachs. The race itself is enigmatic as it is.   Another interesting point, the Mythi and Mythian Empire. These two, despite the name are not related. Northmen and humans make up most of the nations here in the great north. Hearty, and survivalists, many of the world may call these folk barbarians. However Mythia happens to be the oldest monarchy on Gaia, and that in itself is a treasure.   The Mythi, usually got their name due to their association with Mythia. They call an underground settlement known as Caerloist as thier 'capital'. It is said the Underfoot and Underrealm have their gates here. The Rakii Foxians are nomadic tribes amongst the beastfolk here, and the Guardians of Saint Serlis-Nominica are an interesting bunch. These beastfolk are often humble and welcoming, but to live on such a harsh continent where there is so little contact to the outside world, intrigues the guild as it is.   Perhaps we shall learn more once we approach Mythia with our Maesltrom branch of the guild of Lore to be established there.   ~Guild of Lore ~Academician Faroe Barre
