Life Fonts

Life Fonts are a unique formation on Gaia that acts as a geyser or volcano of sorts of the planet's Energy. They are extremely rare formations that are considered ley Line confluences. These are spouts of exposed areas of energy that are overwhelming with energy. They are considered holy places to some, and places of power to many. These energy sources flow like rivers in the Underfoot. Sometimes even too deep for the Underfoot to even touch.
"Imagine looking up to the ceiling and seeing white and green energies flowing like a river upside down miles above your head. We call this the Underfoot Aurora, as they illuminate the passages and abyssal darkness that persists in the land under our paws."
~Tchkit Neciith, A Rathari's Musings

Ley Lines

Despite being called Life Fonts, they are actually rivers of unfathomable energy that run under Gaia's landmasses and its surface. These are what Mages would call Ley Lines, energy of the planet, or it's "lifeblood". Occasionally they are exposed to the surface through natural vents or unnatural means. Once tapped into, this energy is almost endless. Mages ususally study these ley Lines in the field, and a special type of mage known as a Leymaturge can tap directly into these to cast magic.     Necromancers call this life energy, and usually use it to twist their ways of magic and their hold over the souls of the dead. There is controversy on this practice, as there is an active ban on Necromancy in most of Gaia's regions. However, there is a practice that is known as White-necromancy, which usually assist uses the ley line's energies to bestow life or to give life unto others. The practice is frowned upon, and many priestly orders see it asa perversion of clergy and divine magic.

The Underfoot Aurora

As the underfoot is also underground, at times these leylines run along the ceilings to the surfaces of the underfoot, much like an underground spring or river. It gives off a ghastly greenish-white light and radiates energy that is too hard to tap into without the means to do so. This term was coined from a Rathari Seeker known as Tchkit Neciith. He is credited to the discovery of these Ley Lines within the Underfoot by confirming that these lines are indeed the network of energy that keeps Gaia alive and all life on it to exist.

The Cycles of Life and Death

The leylines are a an important item within the natural passing of all things living. There is Ley Energy in all living things, it is how mages are able to cast magic. All things contribute to the life fonts of Gaia, as Death is seen as returning the energy back to gaia, to begin anew once more. to deny death as a lich, or another unatural means, is an affront, and considered thieving Gaia of it's energy. As imagined some orders within the world use this to hunt undead and their masters.

Ley-muted

There is a condition that rarely comes up, and this is a condition known as Ley-Muted. This is the beleif that a livinmg thing has not been imbued with the Ley Energy upon their birth. This has not been proven though, and is still considered superstition. This Ley energy has ben reproted to extend beyond Gaia, but only manifests physically on the planet.
