Amatharia

The Flame of Mercy

Amatharia, the Flame of Mercy, as they are called is the goddess of Life and Health.

To be born from the love to two inseparable people of clashing cultures. It was enough energy to birth the form of Life and Health into goddam. Amatharia came into existence.
— Suuko Delpan, Brotherhood of Mercy

Manifest Becoming Real

Amatharia is a shapeless or formless being of living white-golden flame with a gold disc that rotated behind her. She appears as a flame with no features in her divinity form. The gold disc is said to be the circle of life, which her power manifested. She is said to illuminate areas into a divine light and warmth before flickering to life before the blessed. She is humble, and radiates warmth, trust, and confidence.

Manifested Form

Amatharia can take the form of any living being or creature she deems fit. it is a practice she does to put her mortal as ease, to embrace them and to show her intent of benevolence. She can speak clearly and show emotion as real as the race she is mimicking to help ease the shock and untrust of the person she is appearing to.

And she appears, before me as one of my own, inviting, trusting, warm. I feel as if all worries and threats fade, and welcome her embrace.
— Sheldon Warson, Brotherhood of Mercy

The Brotherhood of Mercy

The Brotherhood of Mercy chooses to champion Amatharia and see her as their patron deity. She is the reason they do what they must to save and preserve lives. This has given the guild the God-cult status, being her official sponsors in the wide world of Gaia. Each god has their temple, and she, as well, chose the Brotherhood of Mercy as hers.

She chose Lake O'Shea to be her place of worship, or, it pretty much became such. The waters are blessed with healing properties from the goddess herself.

"Amatharia, Flame of Mercy,
Keeper of Love’s Light,
Help me remember that no loss is without meaning,
And no bond is broken by death.
Carry me when I falter.
Hold them in your circle until I can see them again."
— The Prayer of Life

Beliefs

Aside from the Brotherhood of Mercy her followers are people who seek to help, heal, and preserve life. Life is the most sacred of things, and this is the top priority of her temple and court. They have a true belief they follow.

Those who die with love in their heart —
with bonds unbroken by time or fear —
are never truly gone.

They join the Circle.
They walk the slow golden path behind Amatharia.
And when the time is right,
they find their way back to the ones they love —
in dreams, in whispers, in new life.
