Faeries

Faeries emerged from the shadows of the Ethereal plane, upon the rise of the Dragonic Renaissance. They came on the backs of Void Dragons, tasked with ensuring that their companions made it across the planes safely. Upon arriving in the new world, however, the Faeries were greeted with a vast array of natural landscapes, plenty of potential magick energy, and--thanks to the Dragonic Renaissance--no single species domineering the Earth. Opportunists by nature, the Fae took to this new environment enthusiastically, generously populating the Earth with their otherworldly offspring.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Fae are slender and graceful, with petite and effeminate builds. They are light boned, with minimal muscle and nearly no body fat.
Faeries as a whole are unisex. They all possess prominently feminine features, but have no defining sexual anatomy.

Biological Cycle

Faeries who were born of the Earth are the only Fae who have any noticeable changes between seasons. As the seasons turn, so does their complexion; from blue in Winter to green in the Spring and Summer, and purple or light orange in Autumn. Their eyes also change, glowing bright gold when the days are longer, and becoming dimmer as time turns in favor of the night.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

Faerie's faces are narrow and angular, with high cheekbones that exaggerate their large eyes. Their ears, while petite, have a noticeable point (like elves.) Their noses are sharp and slightly upturned, and their thin mouths always seem to curl in a sly, knowing smirk.
Their large eyes are often one color (usually gold, blue, silver, or pink) and glow faintly. Eyebrow are thin and neatly pointed.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Before humans were allowed to repopulate the Earth, the Fae had a boom in population across the planet. Among the most adaptable species, Fae had no trouble settling in (or manipulating) their new environments. From the coldest mountain top to the densest jungles, these sly and resourceful folk are thriving nearly everywhere.

Average Intelligence

Fae possess incredible intellect, with coy and cunning that other species can hardly compete with. Their perception and sharp wit only enhances as they age. Some of the oldest Fae are rumored to possess as much knowledge as their High Deities, with the magickal capabilities to create new fractal universes.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Faeries have moderate use of their five senses. Their real power is in their magickal acclimation. They are made nearly entirely of magick energy themselves, so their ability to channel and manipulate magick is unlike anything Earth has ever seen. They are in tune to the physical plane and the magick plane, giving them twice as much insight as most species can access.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Faeries use ancient names that originated in their home plane. Otherworldly and complex, these names are often long with excessive vowels and soft, rolling sounds. Per the tradition in their home world, a Faerie's name gets longer as they grow in social status/power. (i.e.Tapri - Taprilli - Taprillijt)
