The Ones who Walk The Path of The Night

Vampires are pale humanoid creatures that need to drink blood in order to survive. They were created when a male made a deal with a demon. The demon listened to the mortal's request and gifted him with much more than power.
In the beginning, none of the other species could stand up to the vampires. This was until the other races started discovering the vampires weaknesses. An all-out war was had with the vampires. The war ended with mountains of bodies and the formation of the Blood Pact.

Blood Pact

The Blood Pact is a peace treaty that was created at the end of the war. It states that once a week, nearby cities will send people to Nite so they can milk them for their blood. After a week, they return to their cities. In exchange, vampires can't randomly kill people, and can't convert people without their consent. Likewise, people can't go out murdering vampires.
In the present day, most vampires live in the city know as Nite. Nite is constantly covered by a black dome that blocks out sunlight. Vampires can leave whenever they want to. However, they would need to find their own source of food and shelter without breaking any of the rules of the treaty.

Vampires share the same anatomy with humans with a minor difference. They have larger fangs to help them suck the blood out of people.

Vampires have sharpened fangs and don't age. Males are larger than females, but females are stronger in certain aspects of their power.

Vampires grow as fast as humans do. They tend to keep a youthful appearance as they get older.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Vampires only need blood to survive. Everything else to a vampire is flavor and wouldn't cure their hunger. However, there is a special red fruit that grows in Nite that nourishes them called the blood fruit.

The purer a vampire's bloodline is, the more respect they will receive. However, if someone of a lower bloodline defeats someone of a pure bloodline, they would be treated better.

If a vampire has a relationship with someone who isn't a vampire, they would try everything in their power to convert their lover. This is because they return most likely wants marriage.

It's common for a vampire to ask their companion to spare some blood or to hide them from the sunlight.

Vampires haven't discovered anything new besides a convenient way of holding blood.

It's considered rude to drink someone's blood without asking first.

Vampires don't have a dress code, but most of the tend like wearing lots of black and red.

It is considered a crime to turn someone else into a vampire without their consent. If someone breaks this rule, they will be killed on the spot.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Some vampires view other species as nothing but cattle. Others find them interesting and even consider marrying them.

Vampires won't instantly die to the sunlight. They are however are weaken when out in broad daylight. Too much exposure is lethal. The reason why humans take a vampire's blood is that in small doses, their blood can work miracles.
