The Wizard of the Dell is a medical practitioner living in Riven. His home, fittingly, is called the Wizard's Dell.
BOOK 1 - Prospertine & the City of Light
The Wizard does not appear in Book 1
BOOK 2 - Prospertine: Equinox
The Wizard appears in "The Wizard in the Dell." Prospertine seeks his help in healing an injured ankle. He helps her, seemingly for no charge, and they discuss their respective backgrounds, and what brought them to the isolated settlement of Riven.

It is eventually revealed that the Wizard hales from Kinsetaria, and that he was in fact a high-ranking official that helped Crysos the Just rise to power, only to be betrayed during the Week of the Wolves. The Wizard says Prospertine, as a creation of Jovannan the Wise, has no right to judge him for his past.

Their conflict escalates, and the Wizard eventually practices Sarkomancy on Prospertine, invading her mind and attempting to control or destroy her from within. Prospertine manages to resist this attack and nearly kills the Wizard. In the end, however, she leaves him alive, and he presumably continues to practice medicine in Riven.
