Viren

Viren are birdlike creatures home to the northern part of Zalanya and Anathas. The creatures have four legs, two wings and are roughly the size of a large dog. Their elongated necks and sharp-beaked heads are similar to those of vultures.
Viren are exclusively carnivorous and prey on both living and dead beings. A single viren will likely not attack anything bigger than a rabbit or a small calf. A group of viren can and will kill larger animals however, including unlucky travelers passing by their territory.
Fireviren are a subspecies of viren found near the Bloodmounts. They possess fire elemental cores and have the ability to use fire magic to hunt or to protect their nests.
