Defense Artifacts
A defense artifact is a general term used for all artifacts used as protective gear against both magical and physical hazards. The forms and uses of defense artifacts are as varied, as the dangers they ought to protect from. As suggested by their name, defensive artifacts derive their power from the defense magic embedded in them using arts-based artifact magic.
Defense artifacts can range from small magic-imbued shields to large walls enhanced through defense magic. As with all artifact magic and arts in general, the greater the effect, the greater the proficiency and force of a person’s Will have to be in order to enable the intended result.
Similar to defense magic, defense artifacts can also base their defense on kinetic magic embedded in them. As with most artifacts enhanced with elemental magic, the kinetic magic derives from a spell put on the object by its caster and not from an elemental core linked to the artifact.
List of defense artifacts
- Magic wooden shield: A simple wooden shield, whose limited defensive capabilities have been magically enhanced using arts.
- The Great Walls of Furnia: The famous Great Walls have been bestowed with both arts-based and elemental based defense magic. Technically, they are defense artifacts, even if they are not perceived as such.
