The Moonlit Wumpkin

A Gnomish Urban Legend - What is the Moonlit Wumpkin?
The Moonlit Wumpkin is a tale told primarily by gnomish parents to their children. The tale tells of a large fuzzy blue creature that sits and stares at homes with a large frown, often sadly moaning as it gazes through windows. It never enters the home, nor comes too close, and has never been known to harm anyone.   But, it is said that the Wumpkin brings ill fortune and omen to those households that do not adequately appease it. In order to appease the Wumpkin, the gnomes gift the Wumpkin with small stuffed animals and sweet treats for the Wumpkin to consume. The gnomes believe that the creature is just lonely and needs a friend.   The Wumpkin has been spotted all over the Gnomish Lands, both within Bellbrook and in the smaller farms and communities that surround it. It is believed that the Wumpkin lives and roams in a moveable cavern, which it slings upon its back and carries from location to location.

Is the Wumpkin Real or is it just Fantasy?
Despite its fairytale-like qualities, the Wumpkin is in fact real. Though sightings of it are fairly rare nowadays, with some believing it may have moved on. It is thought that Wumpkin lives in a large orange cave in the woods in the vague shape of a malformed head. No one knows why it would live in such a strangely shaped home, though its shape is possibly just a coincidence.
Many gnomes have said to have found the abode whilst hiking in the forested hills of the Gnomish Lands, but upon trying to retrace their steps and find the abode once more have not been able to find it again.   Some Gnomes believe that the Wumpkin just picks up his head-shaped house and moves to and fro upon its own whims. Changing and moving the location of its home for unknown reasons, maybe the Wumpkin just likes its privacy.   It is thought that inside the Wumpkin's home is amassed a horde of stuffed plushies made by the gnomes whose homes he has visited. The plushies had been sown to ward him off from giving the home bad luck.
And the gnomes that have created these plushies are convinced that the Wumpkin keeps each and everyone, inviting them to live in his cavern home with it. Parents tell their children not to seek out the Wumpkin or to enter its home if they find it whilst wandering in the woods. As they do not know how affable the Wumpkin is to visitors.
A secret about the Wumpkin
The Wumpkin is actually a rather intelligent and emotionally sensitive creature and strives to find more and more friends. But he is far too shy to approach any gnome, and instead, gladly takes their gifts home.   The Wumpkin shares their treats with the amassed plushie horde they have accumulated over the years. If a visitor were to ask for an invite into their home they would gladly oblige and set out tea and scones.   Though the encounter may still be awkward as the Wumpkin has poor social skills due to his shyness.
