The Abyss

The Abyss is the proper name for the place that most know as Hell. It is an infinite number of planes that all connect to each other and lead to somewhere unknown. the first nine layers of The Abyss is what makes up the traditional hell, but beyond that is territory that demons fight over to control, either claiming a single layer or multiple as their domain.
While each layer is 'numbered' this is just for organization purposes, as they mean little when actually traversing The Abyss, as one could easily move from layer 10 to layer 1000 without having to cross 900 layers
The Abyss is considered by adventurers to be the grandest goal, its secrets stretch into infinity and treasure is unfathomable
