The Senate is the governing body of the Coastal Republics, made up of representives from each of the Republics this group makes all decisions which effect all the Republics at a macro level. These issues range from trade and teriff policies to matters of war. Made up of elected oligarchs from each of the Republics, the Senate has twenty-five senators and one presiding memeber who is known as the Voice of the Senate. The Voice although not having a vote themself help to maintain order withing the Senate, and is responsible for ensuring that discourse flows smoothly.

History

The Coastal Senate was established by the Pact of Shields, as the governing body for the newly united Republics. It was set out how many representives would come from each of the Republics, and what the extent of the powers the Senate would hold would be. Although established centuries prior the Senate of the Republics has proven a reliable and adaptable governing body which has allowed stable governance of the Republics through many crisies.
