The Gemstone Cliffs
Proximity to the cliffs allows clerks to cast divination magic without verbal components. There is a 10% chance that Sela will answer the petitioner through a mental message that only the petitioner can see and/or hear. This is not a two-way conversation.
Complex rituals receive a bonus as if assisted by two competent clerics of equal level to the petitioner. Materials are still required and costs are not reduced.
On the western border of the Northern Tribelands towers a mountain of deep red and green crystal with a spire which juts out higher than the rest of the mountain range. The crystal reflects sound back in a magnified echo. Diviners travel to the foothills below the mountain to petition Sela the Sky God for insight or assistance.
Orcs once attempted an incursion to take over the mountain range and local valleys, but the orc army and the defending tribesmen were struck deaf by the magnified sounds of battle. Three orc chieftains signed a treaty with the five northern tribes, making the mountain an official non-aggression holy site, the first of three such sites in Frigranden.
