Mornathel Manor

Zinlen Mornathel and his family fled the underdark around roughly 95 years ago.   Those that accompanied him were his Bugbear and hobgoblin personel and a group of human slaves.   When they reached the surface they found an ideal place to start a new life in the eastern - outer edges of the kingdom of the buck. Over the 95 years, it has grown to a small village of around 100 residents.   It was a group of Drow, Hobgoblins, Bugbears, kobolds and humans that started Mornathel Manor. At first nothing but a living shack and some tents, hidden near the foot of the mountain. Where the priority was just survive, fortunately, life in the underdark had made them resilient and they persevered through the struggle.   Slowly the tents became houses, the first living shack was rebuilt into the manor, and a new living shack was built, far more luxurious then the first. The walls were raised and Mornathel Manor started to look like it does today.

Government

Zinlen Mornathel has implemented a more marxist regime.   Even though nobody receives payment in gold for what work they might do. Everything that would be needed to survive is provided by the mornathel family. Food, clothing, firewood, fresh water, should any of the residents require these, they can be collected in the supply quarters of the village.   This counts for all aspects of the village. However some responsibilities have been passed down to control the smaller day to day aspects.   Head of Provisions: Caitris Mornathel   Head of Security & Defense: Dorovan Enko    Head of Clergy: Ester Dromink   Head Hunter: Ryntial Greenbrush   Head of Production & Infrastructures: Alexander Baxter   Head of customs: Celina Bright

Defences

Mornathel Manor uses the mountain and the river has a form of natural barriers. it covers an area of roughly 2500 square feet.   The north and south sections have 35 feet Stone reinforced walls to protect it. The weak spots within these walls would be where the gates would be located, there are 3 gates, one in the north wall, 1 in the south wall, and 1 more over the bridge, in the eastern wall.   Furthermore there is the guard barracks. There are 20 guards are under employ that keep the watch over the surroundings of the village.   The different type of guards:   10 Bugbear
5 Hobgoblin
5 Half-Elf
additionally every resident of the village receives basic weapon & combat training.   In times of crisis, every abled citizens will become a combatant, this means the following will be added to the defenses.   The number of guards will be doubled(20B-10Hb-10He)
The clergy can provide 10 Clergy Healers
The Tinkering lab will provide 3 engineers, these are also responsible for the workings of the infrastructure of the village.   There are 20 kobold couriers and 4 Kobold tavern guards that could be used aswell

Industry & Trade

Mornathel manor thrives on the export of the Rappel Carp, The oil of the Spined Rappel Roach and in more recent years, Serpentine gems and jewelry.
These mines do not hold much iron ore however, so it relies on the import of iron ore from gale and the sparrows nest.
Additionally, it relies on the import of wheat from goldfield, this is however not essential to it's survival, since it can pull more then enough fish from the river.

Infrastructure

The Pull Up Bridge The bridge was constructed 50 years ago by D. Baxter. The size of the bridge made it a real challenge, but the bridge is fully functional and can raise itself in order to provide passage for ships.   Heated water filtration Designed by Alexander Baxter, it is a filtration system located neared the paved riverside on each side of the river. There are Chambers beneath the pavement that catch the water and guide them through passageways that have filter nets installed to clean out the larger debree, like sticks, leave, small rocks and dirt. This water then gets guided to large heated pots, there are 5 of these on the west bank of the river and 2 on the east. These boil the water clean and are then guided to the wells in the different quarters of the city.
Due to this system there is now a tunnel network beneath the village that allows engineers access to the pipes, cauldrons, etc for maintenance.   Steam Powered Packaging Alexander Baxter implented in a later stage, the mechanism of steam power. It does not generate allot, but it is enough to power a few devices which are used in the logistic process for faster packaging.   Cold Fish Storage Another of Baxter design, but this one only recent, around 6 years ago, Robin Baxter came up with a cooling system that will keep the fish frozen, allowing for much longer preservation.   Spined Rappel Roach Aquarium Through Combining engineering and the arcane, Robin Baxter was able to create an aquarium that can replicate the living conditions required to sustain a living population of Spined Rappel Roach, The natural oil the fish produce within one of their glands is harvested from the fish.   Kobold Logistics The kobold population of the village primarily handles transporting the goods around the village. The storage of the general supplies can be found beneath the manor. The kobolds have also made these their living quarters. each kobold family has their own space here and are comfortably furnished. The kobold couriers are fast & nimble and are efficient at transporting the different goods around the village.
