Stefan Peter Heilgrund

Of all the Eisenfürsten, only Stefan Heilgrund never saw the horrors of the War of the Cross firsthand. Born at the end of the War, Stefan is the youngest of Eisen’s leaders and a brash believer in setting aside the past to fight for a new, more energetic future. Stefan was the only son of the old Baron Peter Heilgrund, born in the golden years of the former military commander’s life. Young Stefan wrestled control of the barony from his elder uncles almost as soon as his father died and set about leading the territory by force of youthful energy and aggressive reform.
Stefan himself cares little for the everyday difficulties of ruling his königreich. Instead, he sets his sights a great deal higher: on leadership of Eisen itself.
Stefan believes he is the perfect man to unite Eisen and lead it into the future, a fact he has not bothered to keep secret from anyone, including the rest of the Eisenfürsten. Largely disliked and derided by the rest of the Iron Princes, Stefan seeks new and more radical displays of power to gain footing among his peers.
The baron splits his time between riding out with his Iron Guard in great displays of “military leadership” and studying all manner of the occult in a massive library of tombs bursting with knowledge collected from all over Terra. Stefan believes the key to winning leadership of Eisen is to discover a magical solution for the Horrors. To that end, he has funded numerous expeditions all over Eisen and the world in search of Syrneth relics and drachen bones, a combination he believes hold the key to untold power for the wielder. If he can only unlock their secrets.
